1 CUP HOT WATER
IN LARGE BOWL, COMBINE DRY INGREDIENTS. STIR IN OIL, BUTTERMILK, AND EGGS. ADD WATER AND STIR UNTIL COMBINED. POUR INTO A GREASED 13 X 9 BAKING PAN BAKE AT
350 FOR 35-38 MINUTES OR UNTIL TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN.

Praline Crunch

8  Cups Crispix cereal

2  Cups pecan halves

1/2 Cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 Cup corn syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 Cup butter

1/2  tsp baking soda

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine cereal and pecans

In a large saucepan over medium high heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup and butter.  Bring to a rolling boil, stirring occasionally.  Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda.  Pour over cereal mixture tossing to coat evenly.

Pour cereal mixture into a 9×13 inch pan.  Bake for 1 hour stirring every 20 minutes.

Pour onto parchment paper to cool.  Break into pieces and enjoy.

NOTES:

Can substitute any type of Chex cereal for Crispix.

2021 GMC Yukon

2021 GMC Yukon

The highly popular GMC Yukon is receiving a generation update for the year 2021, with an emphasis on the first-class experience. Appearance changes from the predecessor are immediately noticeable. A more confident and stately look emanates from Yukon, with every component crafted and fitted perfectly. On top of modernizing every aspect, GMC took it a step further, adding their AT4 off-road system to make the Yukon an off-roader to be respected. 

Body: 

Brand new grille and C-shape LED headlights accompany the redesigned hood to form the new face of the GMC Yukon. Roofline keeps its form all the way to the boot lid, maximising both the seating and cargo space. 

Standing at 210 inches long, 81 inches wide without mirrors, 76.5 inches tall, and with a wheelbase of 120.9 inches, Yukon is the prime full-size SUV model. Towing capacity reaches astounding 8400 lbs, which will be more than enough for any needs.

The interior offers plenty of room and seating for eight, with a cargo volume of 25.5 cf³ behind the third row, 72.6 cf³ behind the second row, and impressive 122.9 cf³ behind the first row. The Yukon comes in an XL variant, with a longer wheelbase, improving legroom in the third row, increasing cargo volume, and fuel tank capacity, with a 100 lb lower towing threshold. 

Powertrain:

The behemoth that is the GMC Yukon needs a powerful engine underneath the hood, and that is exactly what you will find. Initially, the standard model comes with a 5.3-litre V8 engine, while Denali, the high-end package has a 6.2-litre V8. A 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine is planned to be added at a later date.

From the engine, power goes through a 10-speed automatic transmission to be delivered to either two or all four wheels. With the Denali, you will get Magnetic Ride Control, which monitors each wheel and adjusts the vertical suspension to enhance ride comfort.

Buick Encore vs Buick Encore GX

Buick has made two excellent models in Encore and Encore GX, but aside from the subtle distinctions in looks, it might be difficult to find discerning differences in other aspects. In this article, we will help you make a choice by pointing out key features and advantages of either model!

Body, size, and assembly:
Both the Encore and the Encore GX belong in the Subcompact crossover SUV class, so any dimension differences will be subtle, but we will try to point out the noticeable ones. Exterior dimensions are nearly identical between them, with the Encore GX having a 1.6 inch longer wheelbase. The same goes for the interior with seating for five people, where the differences in front and rear seating space fall within an inch.

The Encore GX has a slightly larger cargo volume: 23.50 ft³ of standard cargo space, and with rear seats out of the way, you can store up to 50.20 ft³. On the other hand, Encore offers 18.80 ft³ of standard cargo space and 48.40 ft³ when storing up to the first row of seats. 


Curb weight of both cars is very similar at approximately 3300 pounds, and changes depending on the trim level and the choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Both vehicles are assembled in Shanghai, China, however, Encore GX is also assembled in Bupyeong-Gu, Incheon, South Korea.  

Powertrain: 

The Buick Encore is equipped with a 1.4L DOHC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a power output of 138 horsepower at 4900 rpm and 148 Nm of torque at 1850 rpm, and paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, or optional all-wheel drive in the Preferred trim. 

The Encore GX has two engine options: ECOTEC 1.2L turbocharged engine with a power output of 137 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 162 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm, and an ECOTEC 1.3L turbocharged engine outputting 174 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 1600 rpm. Transmission comes in Continuous Variable Transmission or CVT, available with all front-wheel-drive configurations, and 9-speed automatic transmission with the all-wheel-drive options. 

If you’re not looking for extra power, feel free to go with either Encore’s 1.4L or Encore GX’s 1.2L engine, as any differences would be minimal. Nevertheless, if power is an important factor, then the Encore GX’s 1.3L engine is the best choice, either in front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Besides, you don’t have to worry about fuel economy, as both vehicles average approximately 27 miles per gallon.

Safety: 

Safety is definitely one of the most important factors of any vehicle, so Buick took this into consideration when designing these models.

Shared standard equipment includes: Frontal and knee airbags for driver and passenger, Seat-mounted side-impact airbags and Head-curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions, 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, StabiliTrak – Buick’s electronic stability and traction control system, Door locks with rear child security, LATCH System, OnStar, Rear vision camera, LED Daytime running lamps and Tire pressure monitoring system. 

Optional equipment for the Encore includes: Rear cross-traffic alert and Side blind zone alert.

Encore GX adds even more as standard: Brake lining wear indicator, Following distance indicator, Forward collision alert, Front pedestrian braking, Lane keep assist with lane departure warning, Teen driver and Tire Fill alert.

Optional equipment for the Encore GX includes: Rear park assist, HD surround vision, HD rear vision camera, and Automatic parking assist with braking.

Even though Encore will put your mind at ease when it comes to safety, Encore GX takes it a step further, adding more both to standard and optional equipment, improving driving quality and lowering the risk of distraction-caused incidents. 

Features: 

The Encore comes in two trim levels, Encore 1SV and Preferred, while Encore GX offers Preferred, Select, and Essence. Most of the equipment is shared between them, with a few options available on one and not the other. There is no real drawback to any of the trim levels, hence we advise you to take a look at these Encore and Encore GX specification sheets, and tailor the best feature package. 


Some of the shared interior features include: 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability, 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, Buick Infotainment System with 8 inch diagonal color touch-screen and Navigation, Cruise control, Theft-deterrent systems, Keyless Open and start, as well as many more.

The Encore GX has extra features suitable to modern devices, such as USB charging and data ports, SD card reader, auxiliary input jack. The standard Buick Infotainment System comes with Amazon Alexa integration for convenient voice control, as well as Yelp with search and reserve features. It’s also compatible with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and has a wireless phone charging station in the center tray. Rear view mirror has a camera option, where it projects the image coming from the rear view camera. 

Whichever Encore you choose, you will not make a wrong choice! In case safety and power are your priority, Encore GX is a better option, but you can just as easily choose by the looks, and your budget. GMC Terrain vs. GMC Acadia

If you’re considering buying an affordable SUV from General Motors, your choices are most likely the new Acadia and Terrain. There are a lot of similarities between the two models, so it might be challenging to decide which one fits your needs better. Body, size and assembly: 

GMC Terrain belongs in the compact crossover utility vehicle class, while the GMC Acadia is a mid-size crossover utility vehicle. Crossover means that both have been made on a unibody platform, where the chassis and body are merged into one, which trades off-road capabilities for reduced weight.

The Acadia is about 3 inches taller and wider than the Terrain, and considerably longer at 193.4 inches compared to 182.3 inches,  with a 5.2 inch longer wheelbase. The size difference allows the Acadia to offer seating for seven passengers in three rows, 12.80 ft³ of cargo space behind the third row, 41.70 ft³ behind the second, and 79 ft³ up to the first row. The Terrain can seat the standard five passengers and has 29.60 ft³ of space behind second, and 63.30 ft³ behind the first row. If the seating capacity or cargo space is important to you, Acadia is a better choice, otherwise, Terrain will fit your needs perfectly. 

Those who wish to purchase American-assembled vehicles should know that the Acadia is assembled in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Assembly of the Terrain is done in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. 

Powertrain: 

In regards to engine options, Terrain comes with smaller, but more powerful options: a 1.5L turbocharged engine with an output of 170 horsepower, and a 2.0L turbocharged engine with an output of 252 horsepower. Both engines have four cylinders and come paired with 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive in the standard trim, with all-wheel drive available in other trim levels.

The Acadia comes with slightly less powerful four-cylinder engines: a 2.0L turbocharged engine outputting 230 horsepower, and a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine outputting 193 horsepower. Paired with 9-speed automatic transmission, and just like the Terrain, it features front-wheel drive by default, while all-wheel drive comes with higher trim levels.

With the smaller frame, less weight, and more powerful engines, Terrain is a better option for those who want to get more performance out of their SUV. The power in Acadia is far from lacking, and will fulfill all of the necessities in a vehicle of this size. However, due to increased weight and engine size, the combined fuel economy of Acadia comes to 23 miles per gallon, compared to 27 miles per gallon in Terrain. 

Safety:

When it comes to safety, as standard, both vehicles come with frontal and side-mounted side-impact airbags for the driver and passenger, head-curtain airbags for all rows of seatings, and an additional knee airbag for the driver in Acadia. They also share Teen Driver, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Passenger Sensing System, Onstar, and GMC Connected Services, and C-Shaped LED signature lights.

With the standard trim, Acadia separates itself by having Rear Cross Traffic Alert, HD Rear Vision Camera, Rear Park Assist, and Rear Child Security Doors Locks, but the Terrain comes with more: Automatic Emergency Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, IntelliBeam, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. 

While both vehicles come with a great package of safety features, Terrain does offer more, both in standard and more luxurious trim levels.

Both vehicles share most of the features and even the names of trim packages: SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali, so you don’t have to worry about making a mistake, simply select the trim which fits your needs and budget. When it comes to selecting one of these two SUVs, the main thing to remember is your core needs. The Terrain has better performance, fuel consumption, and smaller dimensions, while the Acadia has seven seats, more room, and is produced in The United States. COVID-19 EXPOSURE PREVENTION, PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE PLAN

Fletch’s, Inc. (hereinafter “Company”) takes the health and safety of our employees very seriously. With the spread of the coronavirus or “COVID-19,” a respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Company must remain vigilant in mitigating the outbreak. In order to be safe and maintain operations, we have developed this COVID-19 Exposure Prevention, Preparedness, and Response Plan to be implemented by the Company. The Company will continue to monitor the related guidance that U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) continue to make available.

This Plan is based on information available from the CDC and OSHA at the time of its development and is subject to change based on further information provided by the CDC, OSHA, and other medical and public officials. The Company may also amend this Plan based on operational needs.

Customers and Other Visitors:

  • The number of customers on the dealership premises shall be limited as advised by current local, state and federal guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19; 
  • All customers will be screened in advance of entering the dealership facilities. If the customer answers “yes” to any of the following questions, he/she should not be permitted to access the jobsite:
  • Have you been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
  • Are you currently experiencing, or recently experienced, any acute respiratory illness symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
  • Have you been in close contact with any persons who has been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
  • Have you been in close contact with any persons who have traveled and are also exhibiting acute respiratory illness symptoms?
  • Deliveries will be permitted but should be properly coordinated in line with the Company’s minimal contact and cleaning protocols. Delivery personnel should remain in their vehicles if at all possible.
  • If required by local, state or federal order, all customers and other visitors will be required to wear a covering over his or her nose and mouth—such as a homemade mask, scarf, bandana, or handkerchief; the Company may require customers and visitors to comply with this requirement notwithstanding the lifting of any local, state or federal order or guidelines. 

DEALERSHIP CLEANING AND DISINFECTING

The Company has instituted regular housekeeping practices, which include cleaning and disinfecting frequently used tools and equipment, and other elements of the work environment. Employees should regularly do the same in their assigned work areas.

  • Break/lunchroom and bathroom areas will be cleaned frequently. Employees performing cleaning will be issued proper personal protective equipment (“PPE”), such as nitrile, latex, or vinyl gloves as recommended by the CDC.
  • Any trash collected from the jobsite must be changed frequently by someone wearing nitrile, latex, or vinyl gloves.
  • The Company will ensure that hand sanitizer dispensers are always filled. Frequently touched items (i.e. door pulls and toilet seats) will be disinfected throughout each business day.
  • Vehicles and equipment/tools must be cleaned before change in operator or rider.
  • The Company will clean those areas of the jobsite that a confirmed-positive individual may have contacted and it will do so before employees can access that workspace again.
  • The Company will ensure that any disinfection shall be conducted using one of the following:
  • Common EPA-registered household disinfectant;
  • Alcohol solution with at least 60% alcohol; or
  • Diluted household bleach solutions (if appropriate for the surface).
  • The Company will maintain Safety Data Sheets of all disinfectants used on site.
  • The Company will sanitize/disinfect/wipe down customer vehicles at drop off and pick up. 
  • The Company requires that employees place seat, floor mat and steering wheel protectors in all vehicles.
  • The Company will not permit customers to congregate in close proximity in small waiting rooms and will encourage social distancing and workers and customers will maintain at least 6 feet of distance between them to the extent possible. 
  • All employees involved in touching customers’ vehicles must use rubber gloves and change them frequently and must change or wash gloves before working on a different vehicle. 
  • The Company will place hand sanitizer in all customer and employee areas, including every desk, customer waiting area, parts counter, technician stalls, etc.
  • The Company will place signs and put tape on the floor or use pre-made floor markers to remind everyone of social distancing.

Service Update May 2020

In order to maintain the CDC Social Distancing Guideline, we have had to make a few adjustments to our services. Please be advised until further notice Fletch’s GMC Buick Audi will require appointments for oil changes and tire rotations. We have also implemented the following guidelines:

  • Please limit the number of people in a vehicle to 1 during your service appointment
  • Our waiting room is limited to 6 people
  • No kids are allowed in the waiting area
  • For those who wish to absolutely minimize person to person contact, we have a dropbox on the right side of the service drive with service forms inside. Please fill it out completely, put keys in an envelope, and drop it through the slot in the box. Make sure any and all information is complete and legible.

COVID 19 Sales Procedures

Under the new Executive Orders, Fletchs GMC Buick team is available for virtual and remote sales starting April 14, 2020. Although our showroom will remained closed until further notice, our team is available for :

Virtual Walk Arounds – If our interested in a vehicle a member of our sales team will set up a virtual walk around or send you a video.  

Bring a vehicle to your home or office for a no-contact test drive.  To ensure the health and safety of our community the vehicle will have plastic seat covers and will be sanitized before and after the test drive. 

Our Finance Manager, Michelle, is available to chat via phone. Michelle will be able to walk you through your finance options. 

The safety of our clients and staff is our #1 concern and during this process, we will continue to follow CDC guidelines.  

COVID 19 Update – April 6, 2020

To Our Clients,

Our thoughts are with you and your families during these uncertain times. Now more than ever, we can all begin to understand just how small the world truly is. It’s hard to navigate the unknown, but as we continue to slow the spread of COVID 19 we want to do everything we can to keep our clients, employees and local community safe. The importance of coming together to protect our global community in times of great need has arrived on our front doorstep.

With that, Fletch’s has made the decision to temporarily close starting April 7,2020. We will remain closed until further notice. We are making this choice for the safety of our employees, and you, our valuable customers. As the COVID-19 situation changes, our plans may too. We will inform you as soon as something changes, hopefully for the better.

Our service and parts department will be closed and we will not be performing any regular type repairs, including oil changes, tires or light maintenance. However, in the midst of all this, we realize your vehicle may need an emergency repair. For this reason, we have a select number of our team members on call if your vehicle is not drivable.

If you have an emergent need with your vehicle, please call 231-487-9636. There you will reach our voice messaging system. Please leave as detailed of a message as you can and one of our team members will return your call as soon as possible and address the concern with your vehicle.

Once a service event is discussed and set up, we ask your vehicle be dropped off and parked in our side lot. Utilizing the night drop envelope system on the side of the service lane garage, please write down all the information and sign the bottom of the form. Then, please give us a call so that we may begin with getting your car back on the road.

We are taking this very seriously and will be following procedures that align with standard COVID-19 precautions to protect you and our staff. In order for our technician to work on your vehicle we need to put a sanitation bomb in it and let it sit for 24 hours before it can be serviced. There will be a charge of $35 for this and there may be residual smell (chlorine/swimming pool smell) in the vehicle for about a week, maybe less. Once this procedure is complete we will begin working on your car and update you as the repairs take place.

These procedures are unprecedented for us as much as they are for you, our customer. We are doing all we can in good effort to protect anyone from transmitting or getting the virus. Our efforts extend beyond our dealership, we are all doing our part to stop the spread.

Covid 19 Service Guidelines

During this time of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are following CDC regulations and doing things a little different to keep you and our staff safe. We ask you to please follow the below guidelines during the service process:
🚙We are asking all customers and staff to maintain a 6-foot distance between each other.
🚙No customers are allowed in the Service Advisors desk area other than to get to the waiting room, parts retail counter or cashier.
🚙The door to service will be locked. Please knock and we will open the door as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience until someone unlocks the door for you.
🚙For those who wish to absolutely minimize person to person contact, we have a dropbox on the right side of the service drive with service forms inside. Please fill it out completely, put keys in an envelope, and drop it through the slot in the box. Make sure any and all information is complete and legible.
🚙 We are staggering our appointments so no more than 2 customers are in the service drive at any given time. Please arrive at your specified drop off time and stay in your car until a Service Advisor comes out to greet you.
🚙Again we will be using the 6-foot social distancing rule. Feel free to announce if that distance becomes too close during your visit.
🚙For those customers that choose to wait for their vehicles, our waiting room chairs are spread out using the 6-foot social distancing rule.
🚙We are cleaning and sterilizing the dealership continuously throughout the day and after hours.
